Health & Safety Software Redesign
Redesign a health and safety management tool. This tool helps companies save time, reduce risk, and prevent unwanted events.

Project
Overview
Each member of the product design team came up with an initial design. We would review them together and branch off to work on another iteration that combined our ideas. Then we have another review session and make more updates before handing the designs to the UX researchers.
Problem Statement
The navigation feels outdated and isn't optimized for responsive design. The dashboard also looks outdated and doesn’t create a strong positive first impression for new customers.
Benefit Hypothesis
-
The updated navigation will give the product a more modern, on-brand appearance and ensure responsiveness across multiple devices.
-
Redesigning the home page layout will help create stronger, more positive first impressions.
Criteria
-
Retain existing functionality
-
Design for responsive layout
Current Design
The navigation is difficult to use, and the colorful module buttons take up valuable space. The design doesn’t align with the Company brand. The lengthy module drop-down with multiple layers makes site navigation challenging, and the layout isn’t responsive. Additionally, the breadcrumb is hard to see and needs a better visual hierarchy to help users understand their location on the site.

Conclusion
This project was still in progress when I left the company. I learned a lot about their complicated software and the importance of health and safety in work environments. I also developed valuable skills in simplifying dense content into an easy-to-understand format.
With the updated navigation, we aim to help users easily find what they need. Ensuring responsiveness across various devices will enable users to access essential content no matter where they are.
